INWARD INVESTMENT PROMOTION MISSION FROM AUSTRALIA FROM 7TH -8TH MARCH 2011
In an effort to foster new business relationships and continued foreign direct investment promotion, BEDIA in partnership with the Australia Africa Business Council (AABC) through the State Government Victoria's Department of Business and Innovation (DBI), Australia will on Monday 7th to Tuesday 8th March 2011 host a delegation of potential Australian investors in Gaborone. DBI is the Victorian Government's lead agency responsible for encouraging business growth and securing investment.
The Australia Africa Business Council is a confederation of state and territory chapters, focused on building business relationships between Australian and Africa. Central to this is the Council's promotion of business networks; related social contacts; and its focus on increasing bi-lateral trade and investment between the two continents.
The key objective of this mission is to foster and promote business development and bilateral trade between Australia and Botswana. Being the first of its kind in Victoria, this mission presents a unique opportunity for all participants (being the delegation) to explore and broker new business in their field of expertise, and consider opportunities in related industries. Ultimately, new business ventures and strengthened bi-lateral trading ties between Australia and Botswana will have a tangible economic benefit for the each respective economy in the immediate and longer term. The delegation will include companies interested in mining and mining services, ICT and social media, mobile communication and design, education and tourism. A business seminar will be held for the delegation on Monday 7th March 2011 at 08h00, Gaborone Sun Hotel conference room where BEDIA and BOCCIM will share with the delegation business opportunities available in the country as well as private sector partnership with government.
