INWARD INVESTMENT PROMOTION MISSION FROM CHINA

In an effort to foster new business relationships and continued foreign direct investment promotion, BEDIA is hosting a trade and investment promotion delegation from the People's Republic of China starting March 31st to April 1st 2011. The delegation's visit to Botswana is organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) led by the Council's Secretary General, Mr. Xu Hubin and comes as a result of an invitation by Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcas Makgato-Malesu and BEDIA CEO Mr. Jacob Nkate who visited CCPIT last year. The purpose of this visit is to promote bilateral trade and investments between the two countries, with the view to deepen the economic relations between Botswana and China.
 
Businesses represented on the delegation include companies with interests in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Real Estate development, Tourism, Logistics (rail & road transport), Electric power generation & transmission, Power plant construction, Water supply, Mining, Infrastructural development, City planning, Engineering design and Manufacturing.
 
Against this background, BEDIA will host a Business Seminar for the CCPIT delegation on Thursday 31st March 2011 at 08h30 at the Grandpalm Hotel, GICC. Various key stakeholders have been invited to participate at the seminar, including the private sector and government departments to share ongoing developments in the various sectors. Stakeholder participation during these events is very critical in order to engage and interact with the visiting companies to explore possible areas of cooperation and collaboration, leading to joint venture partnerships with the visiting foreign companies.
 
The visit is initiated by BEDIA office in India and Embassy of the Republic of Botswana in China together with the Embassy of china in Botswana.
