BEDIA shortlisted for Africa Investment & Business Leaders Awards

The Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) has been shortlisted for the annual Africa Investor Investment and Business Leaders Awards under the category, “Investment Promotion Agency of the Year”. The Africa Investor awards have been running since 2004 and have been held in various African countries.

BEDIA is the focal point for investment and export promotions activities in Botswana and aims to promote diversification and industrialization of the economy. The Authority is also entrusted with the task of identifying market outlets for locally manufactured products and also construction of factory shells for setting up of manufacturing enterprises. In addition, BEDIA works closely with the Government of Botswana to ensure that the country has a conducive investment climate.

The Deputy Director of PR & Communications, Kungo Lentswe said;

“This as a milestone for our organisation and it is a result of our new strategic approach. The practice of investor targeting guided by our futuristic researches has seen us achieve our targets and beyond. The conversion of our existing investments and pipelines keeps increasing. We also pride ourselves in our export development programme that has assisted our domestic market to do business better than before”.

Africa Investor is a leading international investment research and communication group that advises governments, international organisations and businesses on communication strategies for capital market and foreign direct investments in Africa. The Group hosts the Investment and Business Awards to reward exceptional business practices, economic achievements and investments across the investment spectrum in Africa.

At a time when the global economy continues to face formidable challenges amid vigorous market changes, the Africa Investor honours the people who have provided dynamic leadership and a profitable long-term vision for the companies they led. The Awards are designed to shed light on Africa’s many investment success stories and recognizes those Business Leaders that have the knowledge and strength to grow their investment portfolios and who are making a difference through leadership and innovation in their industry sectors.
