Finance Department
The Finance department is a support service department to the organisation's investment and promotion activities. Its role is to mobilize funds and enable the completion of strategic objectives that form BEDIA's business plan.
It shares accountability and responsibility for achievement of overall objectives of the Authority. The main objectives of this department are:
To make informed decisions on Authority's finances and continuous improvement in budgetary management and advice; transparent financial reporting; a robust financial framework; and best practice regulatory processes.
To coordinate, prepare and consolidate the annual budget for the approval of the board to meet planned operational objectives of the authority in a cost efficient manner
To ensure that all BEDIA strategic projects are adequately funded and within budget
To ensure that the Authority's investments are invested in low risk institutions and yield positive return
To ensure that the final accounts and financial statements are produced on a timely basis and presented to the board and external auditors
To deliver professional support service to the Authority and staff as a whole
To provide guidance on Corporate Governance to the Board and Management team
To act as the financial liaison of the organization with the principals at the parent Ministry
To prepare and execute activities for statutory audits
To guide on audit compliance to the Public Accounts Committee requirements
